Pre-op day at Virginia Mason Hospital -everything looks good!

3 Meals - Scott's food on top, Anna's food to the right and my "meal" of Jell-O and chicken broth. Mmmm tasty!
Prepping for surgery with the Citrate Magnesium drink, bleck!

One last hug before surgery

Homeless kidney
Another kidney shot

Anna's discolored eyes - a telltale sign of lupus

Swollen and sore, but going home!

Saying goodbye at the hospital, for a few days

Two and a half days worth of pills for Anna

My surgery reminders - four small incisions and one large one

Only one cut for Anna, but it's a BIG one!

Anna filling her 'tackle box' for the week - notice the two GALLON bags of drugs on the bed.

Recovery and a movie with Anna's mother Diane (our diligent nursemaid, chauffeur, cook, etc, etc)

Having fun on one of our brief excursions away from home

Remembrance bracelets from Bob & Diane to commemorate our big day

Saying goodbye and going home. Talk about a crazy two weeks!

My 8y/o LOVED the kidney shot. When i told him the story he said, "so thats why God gives you two kidneys".
Glad to see that you both are doing so well. I don't think that I've ever seen anyone's kidney before. Must be a trip to see your own!
Great kidney shot! Love the bracelets too. Glad you're doing well; didn't expect anything different. Let me know if you need ANYTHING while you continue to recover. I'm just up the road!!
